Premium Bar TV & Audio Installation

Case Study: Premium Bar TV & Audio Installation at Finsley Gate Wharf, Burnley

Our Expert Consultation: Designing the Right Solution

Initial Site Visit:

  • Client: “I want to stick a projector screen above this fireplace.”
  • Our Response: “Let’s take a few measurements first.”
  • After assessing the dimensions of the space, we advised that a 100″ projector screen would overpower the room. Instead, we recommended a 75” smart TV for a cleaner, brighter, and more integrated viewing experience.

Speaker Configuration? No problem. We designed a layout with stereo speakers on either side of the TV, paired with a concealed amplifier system for powerful but balanced audio.

Installation Day 1: Structured Cabling & Infrastructure

Our first job was to handle all cabling and infrastructure. As with many older buildings, routing cables cleanly without disrupting the existing architecture is always a challenge—but one we’re well-versed in.

Cabling Run and Components Installed:

  • Power: 1 x 2-gang power extension
  • Audio: 1 x 4-core speaker cable
  • Data & Video: 2 x CAT6 cables – one for network, one for HD video over Ethernet
  • Audio Return: 1 x twin coaxial for audio feed back to the amplifier
  • Converters & Interfaces: 1 x digital optical converter, 1 x HDMI wall socket for local laptop or console connection
  • Speakers: 2 x 8” speaker cabinets (discreet wall-mounted)

Routing included drilling through the fireplace wall and neatly chasing cables up behind fitted units and into the plant room above—home to all source devices and AV control.

Installation Day 2: TV Mounting & System Integration

With the 75” TV delivered, it was time to mount the display. Of course, in a heritage building like this, we encountered the usual issue—walls that aren’t straight. To correct this:

  • We built out the top of the wall using plywood to ensure a flush, secure mount for the wall bracket.
  • The HD over CAT5 sender was installed and connected.
  • Speaker cables and optical audio were routed and terminated.

Sky Q box and amplifier were tidied and mounted into a 19” desktop AV rack to simplify future servicing and cable management.

What This Project Demonstrates

This installation showcases the kind of challenges we frequently overcome in historic or non-standard buildings, and our ability to blend:

  • Modern AV technology
  • Discreet installation
  • Commercial-grade reliability

Whether you’re upgrading your home cinema, refitting a hospitality venue, or looking to distribute AV across a multi-room building, we’ve got the expertise and vision to deliver.
