In 1970, Michael Handley founded the business after working in the television industry. In 2014, Mr Handley retired and two of his employees, who have collectively over forty years experience, continued on trading as Handley Aerials. Vicky Ford and Paul Boothman (Barney) now share the role as Director and chose to relocate to Colne, where the business continues to flourish.

As of late, the company has 7 employees, including the branch in Leeds, and 6 vans.

All of our engineers are from the local area and have the NVQ Level 2 Electrical and Electronic servicing (Signal Reception). They all frequently receive excellent feedback from our customers, and are a huge asset to Handley Aerials.

The company is a member of the Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI Plus) which promotes a high standard of workmanship and enforces strict regulation on the quality of equipment used. Our CAI registration number is C1163.

We have procedures in place to ensure the safety of our engineers and our customers when working on your premises.
  • All our engineers have: Completed a “Safe Working at Heights” training course
  • Have clean criminal records check.
  • With ladders, we are able to work to a height of 30feet. We use secure ladders with eye bolts, straps and harnesses. Above 30feet, we will require scaffolding.
  • When working on commercial projects, we will provide our full safety procedures and risk assessments documents.

  • How soon can you do the job?

    Usually, we can schedule a job within 24 hours, sometimes on the day you call.

  • Do I need a digital TV aerial for a Freeview box?

    Very probably to get the best reception. We recommend our standard TV aerial installation package as a start.

  • Do I need a Freeview receiver for every TV?

    Yes, you will need a digital receiver for each TV you have, either Freeview built into the TV or as a set-top box such as a Humax Freeview Play receiver.

  • Do I need a satellite receiver with Freeview?

    Freesat Satellite is an alternative to Freeview. A satellite has the option of more channels.
